CHRISTMAS & EPIPHANY at St. George’s

At this special time of year, there are many worship opportunities at St. George’s. Plan to attend and make your Christmas and Epiphany celebrations complete — from the birth of Christ in the manger to the arrival in Bethlehem of the three kings. Listen to the Christmas message of love and peace. Sing the familiar carols of the season and hear great choral music.

Wednesday December 18 “Blue Christmas Service” at 7:00 PM in the chapel. A non-Eucharistic service of remembrance and hope, designed for those who are experiencing grief, loss, loneliness or hardship during this festive season. The service includes some hymns.

December 22 at 7:00 PM – ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF NINE LESSONS AND CAROLS. The traditional service of Nine Lessons and Carols with seasonal congregational carols and great choral music by such composers as Wood, Darke, Praetorius, Hassler and others.

December 24 (Tuesday). CHRISTMAS EVE FAMILY SERVICE at 5:00PM. Sung Eucharist. Children’s Story. Rev. Father Sherpard Gwende presiding and preaching. Congregational carols and choral music. Music for the Eucharist: William Mathias

December 25 (Wednesday). CHRISTMAS DAY SERVICE. Sung Eucharist. Rev. Father Sherpard Gwende presiding and preaching. Music for the Eucharist: Addington Service (R. Shepherd). Congregational Carols.

December 29 – First Sunday After Christmas. Sung Eucharist at 10:30 AM. Rev. Father Sherpard Gwende presiding and preaching. Music for the Eucharist: Addington Service (R. Shepherd). Congregational Carols.

January 5 2025 – Epiphany Sunday. Sunday Eucharist at 10:30 AM. Rev. Father Sherpard Gwende presiding and preaching. Music for the Eucharist: William Mathias
