BLACK HISTORY MONTH – February 2025

A number of special presentations are planned for the month of February 2025.

February 2 – Rev. Wilson Akinwale, originally from Nigeria, will be the guest preacher. Wilson is the National Board Chair for Black Anglicans of Canada, the Anglican representative on the National Board of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, and the rector st. St. Batholemew’s and St. George’s (Transcona) in Winnipeg.

February 9 – Zilla Jones, an Anglican at Holy Trinity (Winnipeg) and Winnipeg lawyer of Afro-Caribbean descent, will be the guest preacher.

February 16 – Our priest, Father Sherpard will preach at All Saints’ Anglican Church (Winnipeg) and Rev. Robert Schoeck from All Saints’ will preach at St.George’s. Choral Music: Tantum Ergo Sacramentum  by Larry Strachan (black Winnipeg composer/singer)

February 23 – special music with musicians originally from Zimbabwe, now living in Winnipeg.
