Whenever we have a special speaker or just feel the need for a little fellowship, we ask a few parishioners to make pots of soup or desserts and we all gather to share lunch after a Sunday service. We each donate $3 for as much soup, bread or buns, dessert and coffee or tea as we can eat. It’s an amazing food value for $3 and the visiting and fellowship value is much higher.
Immediately following every Sunday Service we gather to visit and have a drink of coffee, tea or juice. It’s our time to catch up on what each of us is doing and make new friends.
We have events that have become a part of the culture at St. George’s – the Christmas Dinner, the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and the Maundy Thursday Potluck Supper. We use these events to laugh and sing together, and we find that they help bind us together with a real sense of community.
